In To open eyes<\/em> (1) I used a lot of words trying to get to the point of my ‘epiphany’. Well let’s try and keep it shorter here!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A link to a book about Josef Albers<\/a> in the newsletter of Ingrid Fetell Lee<\/a> made me curious. Who was Josef? A little online research later in which I read about Josef and his wife Anni, their interesting private and professional lives and glorious colorful art, I suddenly realized 2 things. One: I’m not a looser. I have had a great live so far. Could not have wished for a better place to grow up. Had lots of opportunities to grow, to learn and did something with those opportunities. I’ve developed in a wide range of knowledge and I’m able to achieve things. I’m strong, capable and I can do it, make a new step after being ditched by an employer. Two: I h\u00e1ve a vision, a mission and the three words of Anni and Josef describing what the main reason was to teach for them, are exactly what I want to do too. With my life, with my passion and with MooieMaandag: to open eyes! <\/p>\n\n\n

It describes perfectly what I have in mind for the place that I’ll hope to call my own one day. Where locals, travelers and craftsmen will find each other, teach and learn. Where stories are told, laughter will sound, tears be shared and love will grow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anni and Josef wanted to encourage new generations to open their eyes for the wonders around them: from nature to culture, from form to color. I’ll try to honor this. Make people see, make more people aware of the beauty of nature, culture, art & crafts and I with this I’ll hope we’ll see more possibilities, similarities instead of insurmountable differences. That’s what we need in this world of today. Positivity instead of polarization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have 3 more weeks of teaching ahead of me, then I’ll say goodbye to my lovely students and colleagues and after that a new chapter begins. And I can’t wait for it. I will continue to open eyes, my own and all the eyes of others who are willing to see. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
